Birds,Bees&Blossoms

I guess the title is not the perfect one for this post: no birds, no bees…just blossoms ahah! I’m sorry for the disappointment...  there will be little and delicate flowers. that´s it!

I never was a big fan of birds, for me they are all sparrows. But things changed when I came to Richmond, where you can find many amazing birds!! I'm talking about cardinals, barred owls, Carolina chickadees, Red-tailed Hawks, Ospreys, Sea gulls, Bald Eagles. The flora here is quite different and very rich too, so I understand why birds are attracted to it. Unfortunately we have a lot of pollens flying around here so, it’s not so fun for people suffering from allergies. Welcome to Richmond!

I didn’t found any bee when I was shooting the flowers but I have a special gift for you: a delicious slice of bread sprinkled with honey (from Canada!).
Enjoy! And I hope you are having an happy Spring!!

Marrrch

March was such a nice month :)
It brought me Spring, my favorite season, alongside with birds and bees, sun and blooms.. I wish the blossom season was more long, though... and specially if it rains, they are washed out faster. bah! I shot some blossoms on the beginning of the month and then, when I came back from Canada, bang! The trees were full of green leaves.
Speaking of Canada, what an awesome vacation! I stayed with my family (aunts and cousins) and it was really nice to hang out with them, and of course I had the opportunity to explore the city and fill my belly with good stuff.

Toronto from the top

Toronto… what a fantastic city! It’s the largest city in Canada and it is the fifth most populous city in North America. Toronto is one of the world's most diverse cities, with about 49% of the population born outside Canada. Toronto is also consistently rated as one of the world's most livable cities.
I had the opportunity to see the city from  its highest point (550 m tall), the Canadian National tower, CN tower for short, and it was great to see the top of the buildings, the traffic, the streets…
As a tourist, I was invited to buy some souvenirs!! You may be wondering which souvenirs Toronto have, right? I can make you a list:
  • Maple. Maple everything: maple syrup to drench your pancakes, waffles, French toasts, or oatmeals, maple candies, maple toffees and so on. You know, you can make maple syrup by boiling between 20 and 50 liters of xylem sap (from the Maple trees) in order to obtain 1 liter of syrup.
  • Smoked salmon from Vancouver.
  • Ice wine: a sweet dessert wine produced with frozen grapes.
  • Clothes, decoration, toys and other stuff with wild animals printed. Mooses, bears or beavers... Pick one!

PS: Don’t you forget to go to Tim Hortons, known for its coffee and doughnuts, to complete  your Canadian experience!

Um Jantar à Portuguesa

(this time, in Portuguese)
Haha É sempre giro pô-los a falar português! E pelo que parece temos sons muita difíceis de pronunciar..
Aqui estão algumas fotos. Que tal? Aprovado?
