RiverRock

Festival season is starting here guys!! Last weekend I went to the Riverrock festival, at the Brown’s Island, right across the James river. The festival features a variety of outdoor sports including trail running, kayaking, biking, bouldering, stand up paddleboarding, slacklining and dog jumping. The idea is to bring together athletes, spectators, musicians, and even dogs, of course! Richmond loves dogs! There were so many activities going on… Next year I need to check the schedule so I won't miss a bit ;)

Wednesday's assignment #4

Depth of field it's a huge thing on photography: sometimes we want everything sharp (that is more like a storyteller kind of photo) or sometimes we want a shallow depth of field in order to focus (and isolate) the subject. The lens aperture is the major feature that controls the depth of field. However, the focal length of your lens as well as the distance at your subject is very important too. So, beware!

To blur or not to blur, that is the question. What do you think?

Tattoo shops

According to a recent study, Richmond is one of the top- 10 most-tattooed cities in the United States. If you search on google maps, you’ll find about 15 tattoo shops just right next to me (5km), and more than 150 places in Great Richmond.

There was a time when tattoos were only for sailors and soldiers, but now tattoos are becoming more and more acceptable and very trendy actually!

The artistic expression that tattoos give us is pretty amazing but it is important to always keep in mind the importance of making the right decision.

I think tattoos can be very beautiful: the small and elegant ones or even the big, colorful and spectacular tattoos. One thing is true: it has to show good taste and more important you have to nail it!

They say that the real souvenir from Richmond is doing a tattoo, so I’ll better start to think about it.
