I miss my little Portugal :( Specially the food! Last time that I went there, I made a checklist for: things to eat before I go back to USA. Oh yeah! ;) We have such a great cuisine!!
But you know what? I'm very excited to know more about American food. I was born with this think that is: I need to taste everything! Yeah! I am JB, the explorer! For me, every single meal deserve to be tasted at least one time, or just one bite! lol But of course, the second bite have to worth it! ;) I'm really curious about American food and lifestyle And I'm willing to learn some things..
But for now I leave you this lovely recipe. Is simply delicious!! These little custard tarts are very famous in Portugal and we usually eat them with our coffee (the expresso). Try with a little touch of ground cinnamon on the top ah! and warm 10 sec in a microwave...humm!

- In a sauce pan add 16oz of heavy cream, 8 egg yolks, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch dissolved in 1 ¼ cups of sugar, rind of 1 lemon, 1 cinnamon stick and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Mix well with a whisk to ensure all ingredients are combined.
- Turn heat on to low stirring continuously and gently with whisk.
- Let cool completely. And then remove cinnamon stick and lemon peel.
- Preheat oven to 300F.
- Prepare the pastry shells with puff pastry. I usually cut with a glass to make a round shape.
- Put pastry on a muffin tray and fill 3/4 with pastry cream.
- Bake for 15 min.
Sinto falta do nosso Portugal!
E claro estou disposta a aprender umas coisas...

Já me fizeste salivar! Próximo!
